“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland…because I provide water in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland,
to give drink to my people, my chosen,
the people I formed for myself
that they may proclaim my praise!”
Isaiah 44:18-21

Jesus loves us where we are at. He is aware of our divine gifts and potential. We, however do not always have the spiritual eyes to see ourselves or others in the same way. We sometimes lack the ability to “perceive” the transformation Jesus has made in us and struggle to believe that we are enough. We look to the past and hold onto our mistakes. Why? Because it’s human nature…and it’s hard to forget who we once were before we became alive in Christ.

But God says to us:

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up! Do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 44:19)

How can we perceive this “new thing” God is doing in and through us when we struggle to forget the “former things”? Only through the grace of Jesus Christ, the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and immersing ourselves in the Word is it possible for us to perceive ourselves and others through spiritual eyes. Finally, it all comes down to this: choosing to BELIEVE what Jesus says about YOU.

“We, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being TRANSFORMED into his likeness with ever-increasing glory.”
2 Corinthians 3:18

Choose to believe that God is doing a NEW THING in YOU!! Forget the former things and embrace your future in Christ that your life may glorify Him!

PRAYER:
“Jesus, thank you for giving your life for me. I humbly ask you to forgive me for doubting the redemptive power of your sacrifice for me. I will not dwell on the last, but will look to you in every thought, action and word and will draw my strength from YOU LORD, daily as I stay in relationship with you. Thank you for making me new that I may reflect your GLORY and in all things, GLORIFY YOU JESUS!
