Jesus Revolution - Day One

Jesus Revolution – Day One

I grew up in California and rode this very roller coaster shown here more times than I can count! Funny thing is…it was my favorite ride! While praying a few days ago, I began to see this roller coaster and to hear the words “REVOLUTION”. The impression was so strong that I googled the ride to see an image of it! I chuckled with delight, remembering how much fun it was to flip upside down while riding this roller coaster through the loop …or “revolution”, which is, in fact, the name of the ride.

Then Holy Spirit began speaking, “Has your life not been turned upside down and totally transformed because of Jesus!”  I was humbled and paying attention! For the next three days, while fasting, I sought the Lord for more revelation about the word “revolution”, and continued to see the image of Jesus in his temple overturning the tables of the money changers!

Matthew 21:13

And he said to them, “It is written. ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of thieves’.

The Lord is not happy with the way many churches and ministers are merchandising the body of Christ!

The word “revolution” can mean,  “a sudden radical, or complete change,” apparently from the idea of reversal of direction implicit in the Latin verb. Revolt, which initially meant “to renounce allegiance,” grew from the same idea of “rolling back,” in this case from a prior bond of loyalty.

I believe the Lord is saying that we need to step back and examine our hearts! Are our motives pure? Do we really desire to serve the body of a Christ, or are we trying to “FUND” OUR ministries? And who said we should call our ministries … “OURS” in the first place? Doesn’t it all belong to GOD? Shouldn’t we trust GOD to provide a way for us to fulfill HIS call on our lives?

When Jesus began his ministry, the Jews were oppressed under the tyrannical rule of the Roman Empire. Life was controlled, cruel and unsatisfying and many injustices occurred. People were waiting on their deliverer and Jesus was the answer.

But to their surprise, Jesus did not rise up and revolt against the Roman Empire in an effort to become their “King”.  Rather, he turned the current culture upside down from the INSIDE OUT  starting in his own camp. One revolutionary teaching at a time, Jesus exposed sin and called for a change of heart and a deeper more powerful faith!  Then with unprecedented,  power, Jesus shocked the Jews and Romans alike by doing what no one had done before…he healed the sick, cast out demons and raised the dead and preached an uncompromising gospel message …and the people came by the thousands!

The take away is this: People are drawn to what is REAL.

In addition to the power of God manifested through JESUS CHRIST,  an overturning of thought began to occur as people began to realize that the very son of God was standing in their midst, working miracles as they had never seen before! He even gave forgiveness to sinners and showed great mercy and compassion upon those societies had cast aside or would’ve stoned to death!

TRULY A REVOLUTION HAD COME!

In fact, Jesus’ Ministry was so radical and revolutionary that 12 people were willing to abandon all they had ever known, loved and worked for in life to “follow him” even unto death.

What about you? Are you frustrated with the current church culture you are living in? Do you long for a fresh move of God within the church? Do you cry out to the Lord for protection and divine help in the face of radical shifts in society and “culture” that are leading people you know—even believers and family members and close loved ones away from God and towards sin and destruction?

It is time for a JESUS REVOLUTION!

Only the love, grace, mercy and power of Jesus Christ can shift the hearts and minds of people away from sin and back to God. Jesus was and is the Prince of Peace. We too must walk

in peace, and trust God to work the miracle through us as we submit to HIM.  We must also SPEAK TRUTH! We must die to self and purifying our hearts that we might have the ability to witness to others of who Jesus is and why we want to follow him.

Lastly, we must PRAY. Jesus said my house is a house of PRAYER. This is where my focus is for 2020. PRAYER will MOVE MOUNTAINS and SHIFT CULTURE.

Forgive us Father for turning your house into a house of thieves! Heal us Lord and show us YOUR WILL in Jesus Name,

Amen.

Blessings In Christ,
